What are Presets and why are they useful?

With Presets, you can create your own custom views in DatAds – including the metrics and attribution settings that matter most to you.

This means you don’t need to build a new report every time.

Simply select the right Preset from the dropdown menufast, flexible, and consistent.

What exactly is a Preset?

A Preset is a saved view that includes your preferred settings, such as:

  • 📊 Selected metrics

  • ⚙️ Custom metrics (if defined)

  • 🧭 Attribution settings

👉 Want to learn more about Presets? Here you go.

The 3 most popular presets

1. General Preset

Define the KPIs you want to analyze on a daily basis.

This will ensure that you focus on the metrics that really make a difference.

💡 Tip: Don't get lost in “analysis paralysis.”

Choose only the key KPIs that truly reflect your performance.

Example for eCommerce brands:

  • Purchases

  • Cost per Purchase

  • Purchase ROAS

  • Spend

  • Thumbstop Rate

  • Hold Rate

  • CTR

If you’re using a third-party attribution platform (e.g. TripleWhale, Klar, or adtribute), make sure to include those metrics as well for a complete performance view.

Analyze creatives using different attribution settings

If you analyze your creatives based on specific Meta attribution settings – for example, 1-Day-Click only – you can create separate Presets for each attribution setup.

This allows you to easily switch between different attribution models, such as:

  • Default: 7-Day-Click, 1-Day-View, 1-Day-Engaged

  • Alternative View: 1-Day-Click only

2. New Customer Preset

Perfect for brands focused on growth and acquisition.

⚠️ Note:
To use this Preset, you’ll need to set up the Custom Conversion “New Customers”, either via Google Tag Manager or another integration like Mable.

This Preset only includes metrics related to new customer acquisition, such as:

  • New Customers

  • Cost per New Customer

  • Revenue from New Customers

It helps you instantly see which creatives and campaigns drive the most new customers.

Alternatively, you can also create a separate new customer report here if you place particular emphasis on new customers.

3. Video Presets

Built for analyzing video creatives, especially when combined with Hook or Middle-Part Reports.

It typically includes metrics like:

  • Thumbstop Ratio

  • Hold Rate

  • View Rate

  • CTR

When Presets are most useful

Presets help you work faster and more consistently – especially when:

  • You analyze based on recurring goals (e.g. new customers, engagement, ROAS)

  • You work in a team and want to ensure consistent analysis standards

  • You manage multiple report types and want to avoid repetitive setup work

With the right Presets, you can analyze in DatAds faster, more structured, and with full team alignment.

Focus your time where it really matters — on creative performance.
