This guide will help you get started with DatAds and give you a clear overview of what to do after your onboarding session.
Step 1: Make sure all ad accounts are connected
To get started, make sure all your ad accounts are connected — including Meta, Google, TikTok, and any attribution platforms like Adtribute, Triple Whale, Tracify or Hyros. If you're using Slack, you can also connect your workspace to streamline team collaboration.
Step 2: Invite your team members
To collaborate efficiently, head to the “Team” section in the menu. From there, you can invite team members by entering their email address and assigning them a role (e.g., Admin).
Once added, each person will receive an email invitation with a link to join your company’s DatAds workspace. Access will be based on the role you’ve assigned.
This setup helps your entire team work together seamlessly — analyzing performance, sharing insights, and producing more winning creatives.
Step 3: Set up your client environment
Now that your accounts and team are all set, it’s time to configure your client setup. Head over to the “Clients” tab, choose the client you’d like to set up, and click “Manage” to access the detailed settings.
Step 3.1: Enable the Top Creative Digest
This feature automatically sends you a weekly email highlighting your top-performing ads, based on your chosen settings. It’s a quick and effortless way to keep your team in the loop—no need to manually build reports each week.
Step 3.2: Choose your Metric Defaults
Here, you can define the key metrics that matter most to your team, including any custom metrics you’d like to track. These will appear in your reports as well as in the Top Creative Digest.
Step 3.3: Create Global Filters
Filters help you tailor your analysis—for example, by campaign name if you operate in different markets. These same filters are also used in your Digest and any reports you build later.
Important: Don’t forget to save your filters after creating them to ensure they're applied consistently.
Step 4: Build your first Top Performer Report
Now it’s time to dive into the analysis:
Head over to the “Top Performer Reports” section and create your first report. Apply filters, choose the desired time range – and you’ll instantly get a clear overview of your best-performing creatives.
This helps you spot trends early and make data-driven decisions with confidence.
Step 5: Create and save your metric presets
When looking at reports, you can choose which metrics you want to display. To save time, you can create metric presets – basically a saved view with your most relevant KPIs.
We recommend setting up one preset per campaign type or strategy. You can also reuse these presets across different clients.
This keeps your analysis focused and consistent.
Step 6: Set up Comparative Analysis
Once your Top Performer Reports are ready, you can go one step deeper with the Comparative Analysis feature. It helps you compare creative performance across formats, concepts, or campaigns – based on how you name your ads.
If your naming convention is consistent, DatAds will automatically suggest groups for you. You can accept these suggestions or build your own custom groups.
To do that, click “Add Group,” give it a name, and add filters to define which ads belong to the group.
You can also apply your saved metric presets here.
This feature is extremely helpful to understand what creative concepts are working best, across campaigns.
