Defining what qualifies as a “Winning Creative” is one of the most important foundational steps in DatAds. Instead of manually checking performance, you create clear criteria once and let DatAds automatically flag ads that meet your definition.

Why Adjusting Your Winning Criteria Matters

DatAds comes with a default winning definition based on your account’s historical performance data. This gives you a solid starting point.

However, every business has different goals, margins, and growth strategies. By customizing your winning criteria, you ensure the definition reflects your specific performance targets.

By setting or adjusting clear thresholds:

  • You create a consistent success definition across your team

  • You align performance evaluation with your business goals

  • You avoid celebrating statistically insignificant results

  • You instantly see how many newly launched ads qualify as winners based on your standards

You can also connect Slack alerts to be notified automatically whenever a new winning creative meets your defined criteria.

Step 1: Open the Launch Cockpit

Navigate to the Launch Cockpit via the left-hand navigation bar.

Step 2: Open the Winner Settings

  1. Go to the Winners tab.

  2. Click the settings icon in the top corner.

  3. A pop-up window will open where you can define your winning criteria.

Step 3: Define Your Main Performance Metric

  1. Click on the first filter field.

  2. Select the metric you want to use (e.g. Cost per Purchase).

  3. Choose the appropriate qualifier:

    • equals

    • not equals

    • greater than

    • less than

    • greater than or equal to

    • less than or equal to

  4. Enter your threshold value.

Example:
If a Cost per Purchase below 15€ qualifies as a winner for your business:

  • Metric: Cost per Purchase

  • Qualifier: Less than

  • Threshold: 15€

Step 4: Add Additional Conditions (Recommended)

To ensure only statistically relevant ads qualify as winners, combine your main condition with additional filters using an AND connection.

For example:

  • Purchases greater than or equal to 1

  • Spend greater than or equal to 50€

💡Tip: This prevents low-spend or insignificant ads from being classified as winners.

Step 5: Apply Your Definition

Once your criteria are configured, click Apply.

Your winning definition is immediately active. From now on, DatAds automatically categorizes ads based on your defined logic.

What Happens Next?

After defining your criteria, you can:

  • See at a glance how many ads qualify as winners within your selected timeframe

  • Identify high-performing creatives instantly

  • Set up Slack alerts to notify your team whenever a new winner is identified

  • Trigger BLINK workflows with a clear performance definition the AI can rely on

This allows you to react quickly, scale strong performers, and keep your creative team aligned with real performance data.
