The Inspiration feature in DatAds helps you collect, organize, and analyze ad creatives from different sources in one structured workspace.

This feature is perfect to:

  • Research competitors

  • Document best practices

  • Collect ideas for upcoming campaigns

  • Organize creative concepts by client or strategy

Inspiration works at the client level, meaning each client has their own boards and saved ads.

Two Ways to Collect Ads

There are two ways to add ads to your Inspiration boards:

1. Save Ads from Ad Libraries

You can save ads directly from external ad libraries using the DatAds Chrome Extension.

This allows you to collect ads while browsing advertising libraries and automatically store them in the correct client and board inside DatAds.

๐Ÿ‘‰ For a detailed step-by-step guide on installing the extension and saving ads from each platform, see this article

2. Discover Ads Inside DatAds

The Discovery section allows you to browse and analyze ads directly within DatAds without visiting external ad libraries.

Inside Discovery, you can:

  • Search for brands

  • Save ads to boards

  • Organize creative research in one place

Organizing Your Inspiration

Boards

Boards help you group saved ads by campaign, theme, client, or strategy.

You can create multiple boards per client and assign ads to the most relevant board.

Folders

To keep things structured, boards can be grouped into folders.
For example, you might organize boards by:

  • Format (Video, Static, Carousel)

  • Funnel stage

  • Messaging approach

  • Campaign type

This structure makes it easier to manage large amounts of creative inspiration over time.

Advanced Filtering & Search

To help you find the exact inspiration you need, you can use the Keyword Search to filter for specific visual elements. For example, searching for "woman" will instantly display only ads featuring a female subject.

Beyond keywords, you can use the Filter menu (as shown below) to refine your research by Industry, Creative Format, or strategic layers like Hook Tactics and Awareness Stages. This combination allows you to narrow down thousands of ads to the most relevant examples for your specific campaign strategy.

Viewing and Saving Ads

Saved ads appear inside the selected board under the relevant client.
From there, you can review the creative, analyze details, and use it for future campaign planning.
