If you want to understand which product categories are currently performing best, it's worth creating a product-based Comparative Analysis Report as your overview.

In this report, ads are grouped on a product level – regardless of campaign or ad set.
You get a true bird’s-eye view of your ad account and can quickly identify:
Which product is trending right now?

How to use the report

You’ll create a Comparative Analysis Report that groups your ads by product.

Learn more about the Comparative Analysis Report in this article.

Step-by-step:

1. Click on “+Create” to start building a new Comparative Analysis Report.

2. Name your report – for example: Product Overview Report

3. Define your groupings
Group your ads based on product categories and apply filters based on your ad naming structure. Example:

  • Use “+Add group” to include additional product categories.

  • DatAds pulls this information directly from your ad naming – in this case, mainly the product name.

  • You can also apply a preset here – for example, a New Customer Preset, depending on your use case.

Learn more about our DatAds Naming Convention recommendations to structure your ad names correctly. also apply any preset of your choice to the report.

Additional comparison options

One major advantage of the product-based overview report is its flexibility:
You can compare any dimension – as long as it’s included in your ad naming.

For example, in addition to product categories, you can also analyze:

  • Funnel stages (e.g. Awareness vs. Conversion)

  • Ad concepts or ad angles

Important:
Anything that’s structured in your ad name can be filtered, grouped, and compared in DatAds.

Our Pro tip:
Create multiple Overview Reports – for example by product, angle, or funnel stage – to generate fresh insights on a regular basis.'
