The Testing Log in DatAds helps you to identify the most effective ad elements.
The feature analyzes your ad naming conventions and provides an overview that you can use to determine the most successful combinations.
When creating new ads, you no longer have to rely on your gut feeling - the Testing Log shows you the winning combinations over a certain period of time at a glance.
How to start with the setup
The first time you visit the testing log, you will be asked to enter your naming convention.
Simply follow the steps shown in DatAds. If you select the AI naming convention analysis, we will automatically create an initial proposal based on the historical data of your ad account.
You can then create additional categories and test variables manually. However, thanks to the intelligent AI category recognition, you save a lot of manual effort.
Once you have defined your naming convention, you can continue with the correct set-up of the testing log.
How to set up the testing log correctly
Platform selection: Select the platform on which you want to determine the winning combination. You can choose between Meta, TikTok and Google.
Comparison options: “Compare” and “With ”In the testing log, you can compare specific variables with each other using two fields:
'Compare': Select the first variable you want to analyze.
'With': Add a second variable to compare specific combinations.
3. Time period: You can set the period and see which winning combination was the best in which period.
4. Possibility to use filters
How to set the displayed metrics
You can also customize metrics, presets and sorting in the testing log. To ensure a better overview, the selection is limited to a maximum of four metrics.
Based on the sorting, the individual variables are highlighted in green. In the example shown above, the variable with the most purchases is highlighted in green.
Find out the winning combination
The winning combination describes the ad combination that achieved the best performance within a test.
Marked in green: Test variable that showed the best performance in the selected period (in the example shown: most purchases)
Analyze from left to right: The display is structured in such a way that you go through the various tested variables (e.g. product, creative, audience) from left to right to find the best combination.
Further analysis options
If, as in the example shown, you have grouped by 'Product' or selected 'Product' as a Compare variable, you can switch between the individual 'Product' variables using the tab above the testing log table. The winning combination for each tested product is displayed there.
Combining the Testing Log with the Comparative Analysis
Similar to the Comparative Analysis, the Testing Log offers a detailed insight into the best performing elements of your ad creatives.
While the Comparative Analysis enables in-depth comparisons between different elements, the Testing Log focuses on identifying the most successful combinations based on your naming convention.
Both functions complement each other perfectly and provide valuable insights for optimizing your creatives. The Testing Log gives you a comprehensive overview, while the Comparative Analysis provides a more detailed view and deeper insight.
