Reports in DatAds are highly customizable, and the way metrics are displayed can influence how you interpret performance.
This section explains how layout settings and colour coding work, including how target metrics affect what you see in your reports. Understanding this helps you make sure your reports show the information you care about in a way that makes sense to you and your team.
Colour Coding
The colour of each metric is determined individually.
How it is evaluated depends on whether or not a Target was set for that metric.
There are three possible evaluation logics:
1. Relative (Benchmark-Based) - Default
Metrics are compared to your account’s historical performance of the past 12 months.
Green
= The metric performs within the stronger range compared to your historical data (Top 20%)
Red
= The metric performs within the weaker range compared to your historical data (Bottom 20%)
Yellow
= The metric falls in the neutral range
2. Report-Based (Ad Comparison)
Certain absolute metrics (e.g. Spend or Purchases) are not compared to historical account data.
Instead, they are evaluated relative to the other ads inside the current report.
Green
= The metric is among the top 80% ads in the report
Red
= The metric is among the Bottom 20% ads in the report
Yellow
= The metric falls in the neutral range
3. Target-Based (Absolute Mode)
If you define a specific target value for a metric, performance is evaluated against that threshold.
Green
= The defined target is achieved
Red
= The defined target is not achieved
Gray
= No target is defined for this metric
How to Set Target Metrics
Option 1: Set Target Metrics from a Report
Open any report.
Click the "More Button with the three dots" in the top right corner.
Scroll down and select “Configure Target Metrics.”
Click the Configure button.
You can now set your target metrics.
Option 2: Set Target Metrics from General Settings
Click the Settings icon in the left navigation bar.
Go to the Client section.
Click Manage for the desired client.
Scroll down to find Target Metrics.
How to Configure a Target Metric
When creating a target metric:
Step 1: Choose the Colour Coding
Select whether the metric should be marked green or red.
Step 2: Select the Metric
Choose the KPI you want to track (e.g., Cost per Purchase or Cost per Complete Registration).
Step 3: Set the Qualifier
Define the condition:
Greater than
Less than
Greater than or equal to
Less than or equal to
Step 4: Define the Threshold
Enter the value that determines performance.
Example:
Green → Cost per Complete Registration less than 80€
Red → Cost per Complete Registration greater than 100€
Values between 80€ and 100€ will automatically appear in gray.
Final Step
Click the blue “Save Target Metrics” button to apply your settings.
❗Important: Always set both a green and a red threshold. If you only set one threshold, the colour-coding won’t work properly and may cause confusion.
Trendanalysis
The comparative value from the previous period is determined for each metric in the report. This allows you to quickly see whether the performance of your creative is developing positively or negatively.
To see how your creatives develop over time, you can click on the ‘Lines’ icon at the top right of the report and select the creatives at the bottom of the table. You must also select which metrics you would like to analyse in the trend.
Table View
The view provides a condensed view of the performance of your creatives. The colour coding is as described above and you can analyse all selected metrics by scrolling horizontally.
Bar Chart
Ideal for comparisons between several creatives. To do this, simply click on the ‘bar’ icon at the top right of the report and select the creatives in the table below. You must also select which metrics you would like to analyse.
